“A cord of three strands is not quickly broken” – Ecclesiastes 4: 12

The Bay Learning Trust is a Church of England Foundation Multi Academy Trust. What makes us special is that we welcome both faith and community academies into our family of schools. Ripley St Thomas Church of England Academy was the founding school of our MAT and, since then, we have been joined by Carnforth High School, Morecambe Bay Academy and Central Lancaster High School.

Our Christian ethos sits at the heart of our mission as a Church of England MAT. Our Christian values and our core purpose drive our ambition for an excellent education for all pupils.  We believe that every child is made in the image of God and, as such, deserves the best education possible to enable them to flourish and discover their God-given talents.

“Planted in the house of the Lord they will flourish” – Psalm 92: 13

What makes us distinctive is that, whilst we are driven by the same values and aims – ‘Excellence, Integrity, Service’ – each of our academies is able to maintain their own character.  Church of England primary and secondary schools considering joining our academy are fully supported in maintaining their distinctive Christian ethos and community schools are able to keep their identity as non-faith schools.  Just like the cord that Solomon refers to in Ecclesiastes 4: 12, our Trust is made of different individual strands. Each has its own distinctive identity, but we support each other and are made stronger together.  With God as one of the strands, we believe we can achieve wonderful things for the children in our care.
