European Week of Languages
17/10/2018

At Carnforth, students have been watching popular films in foreign languages as part of the new MFL film club, which runs weekly. Year 8-11 students watched Ghostbusters in Spanish and for year 7 students, it was Boss Baby in French! Students also created an amazing array of cakes for the Great European Bake-Off on 28th September, raising a fantastic £95.00 for MacMillan Cancer Support.

At Ripley, lots of activities went on throughout the week and on 26th September (the European Day of Languages), all staff and students were given stickers to wear showing their favourite foreign word or phrase.  The canteen joined in with balloons and European flag bunting with the menus written in French and Spanish. There was a boulangerie in the Yard (with free samples to those students who asked in French) and MFL worship in the Chapel. The week culminated in the Great Ripley European Bake-Off!
