Remembrance 2018

Thanks to the hard work of Rosie Renyard, a member of staff at Ripley School, the School was awarded funding from the Armed Forces Covenant for a total of twenty seated silhouettes of soldiers, which have been installed in the Chapel located in the School’s grounds.  This is part of the national commemoration, ‘There but not there’, remembering the fallen in this special centenary year and a stark reminder of the human cost of war.  Each of the silhouettes represents a member of the Ripley School community who died in the First World War. The installation will be in place for the whole of November. The School held a special Remembrance Service on 6th November to mark the centenary year.
